Furbys have been in France at least as far back as the eighteenth century. The earliest French Furbys were understood to be "royalists". They may have originated in Britain and at least some of them would have returned to England around 1793. A Claude Furby was born on the 23rd of September 1775 at Cerdon.

Furby Coat of Arms from France Descendents of Antoine Furby born 1713
The coat of arms shown on the right is of a French Furby family whose last surviving male member was Charles Furby. Charles who has now unfortunately died, was a retired judge. His grandfather was exiled in 1852 and settled in Edinburgh, Scotland becoming the French tutor to the princes at Holyrood Castle. One of the princes later became Edward VII whom started the "Entente Cordiale". Charles' father was also born in Edinburgh. Charles' family can be traced back to Antoine Furby who was born 1713 and who died at Nimes in 1793.
