George, probably of Masham (per your list, which shows connections with Grewelthorpe/Masham/Snape/Firby/Bedale etc. to Leeds--my line) as his wife Isabella Hammond's family name was common there and a Leonard Hammond held land in Firby near Bedale. They had two sons I know of by word of mouth as having them for parents, one being my ancestor; Christopher Wood Firby of Holbeck in Leeds, b. 1869 (misspelled Ferby here and on SS Ivernia manifest) who entered Boston from Liverpool in 1909 (destination Pawtucket, RI) and Christopher's brother Robert, who lived in downtown Lancaster before shipping out to Australia. They had a sister Ada or Adelaide Firby Clough. Christopher converted in 1905 to the LDS (now UMC) and his wife Betsy Matilda West of Bingley, Bradford followed suit a couple of years later. They had four children born in the Bradford area: Alice (1895), Robert (1898), Henry and Archie (1907). Archie's first child was Archie Robinson Firby (1937-2006), my grandfather.
