Mary Furby (born 1764) was the common law wife of James Francis Helvetius Hobler. She was supposedly of Spanish origin (Spanish Countess has been suggested) and could not legally marry James due to circumstance (as stated in James' Last Will and Testament). They had four children, Francis b.1793; Charlotte Elizabeth b.1795 (she married Dr. William Spry); George Hobler b.1800 (he married Ann Turner from Cadbury, Devon - my family line); and Mary Ann b.1810 (she married Thomas Knight). They lived in Queens Row, Pentonville, London. Mary herself remains a mystery and the family would appreciate any information. Thank You.
